Activities to increase human resource capacity in the context of effective management of TWP Timur Pulau Bintan (Bintan MPA) were held in the form of a Training Workshop which was attended not only by SUOP but also stakeholders of TWP-TPB (Bintan MPA) Island who conduct fisheries and tourism businesses in the area, parties in charge of supervising, parties who play a role in tourism management in Bintan and its surroundings as well as other parties that have the potential to support the implementation of SUOP TWP-TPB (Bintan MPA) in implementing a sustainable fisheries and tourism management plan.

 

This training aims to produce SUOP or DKP KEPRI personnel and partners who are able to formulate directions for sustainable fisheries and tourism development, analyze the feasibility of their activities, cooperate with business actors to manage adverse impacts on the area, design fisheries and tourism-based community education and develop fisheries management and tourism in the region.

The target in this implementation The training participants know and are able to follow the material consisting of:

  • National policy on utilization in conservation areas for fisheries and tourism

  • Riau Islands Provincial Government policy regarding utilization in the area conservation

  • The concept of managing TWP Timur Pulau Bintan (Bintan MPA) for the first year, medium term and Long term (2042)

  • Sustainable fisheries and tourism management strategies in the categories of institutions, target resource utilization, protection and preservation

  • Develop and identify fishing and tourism activities, types of permits in conservation areas, the feasibility of fishing and tourism activities, managing environmental impacts and carrying capacity in conservation areas, collecting information (baseline data) for monitoring and evaluation, collaborating with business actors, and designing educational programs for tourists and the public
