Apart from looking for seahorse information for restocking, we also survey coral reef seedlings for coral transplantation activities. We surveyed Dendun Village, Mantang District. The coral seedlings that were taken were also the result of coral transplants through the GEF-SGP program carried out by Pelita Alam from 2010 to 2012. The collected coral seeds were moved to Dugong Beach Km 52 Trikora, which is the site of the MPA Bintan Campaign. There are several types of coral, but the types of corals identified are Submassive Coral, Coral Massive, Acropora, Coral Folliose.

We also coordinated with POKMASWAS Mutiara Mapur in Mapur Village for the release of turtles in the Bintan MPA Campaign. POKMASWAS Mutiara Mapur has routinely carried out a turtle conservation program by rescuing turtle eggs in Mapur Village. So that the turtles that will be released in the MPA Bintan Campaign come from turtle eggs that hatch in the turtle nest in Mapur Village.

With the release of seahorse, turtle release, and coral transplantation activities in this Campaign, we hope that this can become a basic environmental education for the community and concern for the environment and protected and endangered biota.

We also coordinate with Vocational high school (SMKN 1 Pulau Pucong) and Junior High School (SMPN 5 Kawal), They are very interested to attend the Campaign action as it will increase the awareness of the students of marine and environement, Village government of Malang Rapat, Home industry under the guidance of processing division at DKP Kepri. They would provide fisheries products such as fish cracker and small salted fish and Tourism group and actors whom will support the Campaign activity.

This month we focus on further discussion of the zoning plan document, which mostly focuses on the management plan and rehabilitation zone. Including by making rehabilitation zone boundaries for the core zone and tourism zone, to engage donors as well as tourists in the recovery effort. Our next step will be to review the initial zoning plan documents before they are discussed in technical consultations and public consultations.
