As part of a series of women's empowerment and mangrove ecosystem restoration programs organized by the Care Peduli Foundation and Ecology Foundation Riau Islands through funding from Traveloka, Berakit Village officially formed a Beneficiary Group (KPM). The formation process began with identifying existing community groups and the initiatives they had undertaken. The mangrove forests in this area play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance, protecting coastlines from abrasion, and providing habitat for various marine fauna. Beyond ecological benefits, this ecosystem also provides significant economic impacts for residents, both men and women, who rely on it as a livelihood source.
